Back in the days before social media, getting your headshot taken was something that most professionals only thought about every few years. If you were lucky enough to work in a larger office in Tyson's corner or even downtown, the office manager would arrange for a photographer to come in for a day or two, set up in a conference room and you could sign up for slots to have your image taken for free or for a nominal charge. I remember doing that when I worked for an insurance agency and it was a BIG deal.
Those images wouldn't be used anywhere for most of the staff because we weren't in a time where companies posts the headshots of staff on websites or in proposals. Only the images of Board Members or Executive staff were shared on the company media.
Oh how times have changed.

The point of this being that anyone and everyone who is looking to create more money and opportunities in their chosen field will need to provide a photograph of themselves for some purpose. You image can make you more money OR it can stop you from being considered for opportunities that you don't even know about.
Make sure you are showing your very best self in all your business images.
