Lies, Lies, and MORE LIES!

The Lies We Tell Ourselves 

Are you a liar?  I bet you don't think you are but I have heard many a lie from my clients over the past 15 years.  I sit in a unique seat when I am behind the camera.  On one hand, it is a complete honor to be in front of people when they feel their most vulnerable and on the other hand, it is a bit sad when I have a client speaking such negative things about themselves that they would NEVER utter to anyone else.

Things like:

I am so unphotogenic

My hair is a mess

My smile isn't great

My eyes are puffy

I look so fat

I hate my double chin

The list goes on and on and on.

My Photography Clients Are Not Liars

Never in a million years would any of my clients go up to someone and say, "ugh, you are so fat, you shouldn't even be in photographs."  But they say things like this to themselves every single day.

My job as your photographer is to make you look and feel your best.  We all have insecurities and that is okay.  But what isn't okay, is telling ourselves these lies over and over and over.

You are not a liar.  So please, stop, looking in the mirror and lying to yourself. You are beautifully, wonderfully, and uniquely made.  A one of a kind.  Priceless and worthy of sitting confidently in front of my camera to be captured for your business or family.
